Interior architecture is not a matter of decoration, but a discipline that shares the aims and methods of architecture. This is the philosophy of the studio, which since 1995 has completed numerous residential projects, transforming spaces through a careful understanding of people’s needs and aspirations and by seeking each home’s identity in relation to its surroundings. Through a process of progressive refinement encompassing every stage of the project - from the initial concept to bespoke furnishings - and through an ongoing dialogue with clients, technical consultants and craftsmen, spaces take on a new form. The search for enduring traces, the connection between parts, the fluidity of movement, the functionality of spaces, the careful selection of materials and attention to detail are the guiding principles behind every project.
Laura Bettinelli graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and began her professional career in 1995, founding Studio Associato Bettinelli - Ingegneria e Architettura together with her father Rocco and her sister Chiara. Her work focuses primarily on residential architecture, with numerous private homes, as well as the renovation and new construction of residential and commercial buildings and the restoration of listed heritage properties. In 2010 she received the OAB Award - Best Work by a Female Architect - for the conservation and restoration of a villa in the hills of Bergamo.
Within the studio, Chiara Bettinelli, also a graduate in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano, was mainly responsible for technical and organisational aspects as well as client relations. In recent years, while dividing her time between Bergamo and London, she has applied her architectural background to the field of fashion through the brand Yimy, of which she is a founding partner.
In 2020 the studio adopted its current name and continues its activity in the field of architecture, also collaborating with other professional studios. Each project by Bettinelli Studio Architetti brings together the identity of place, functionality and the quality of space and materials, creating environments designed for lasting wellbeing.
