The project involves the renovation of an existing three-storey building plus attic in a small mountain hamlet. The outer shell is preserved in its essential character, in continuity with the surrounding context. The intervention unfolds within, where space is redefined through a coherent language, also expressed in the use of materials. On the ground floor, the living area, with a polished concrete floor, extends towards the outdoor space and the garden. The space, compact and well-proportioned, is organised around a few key elements: the continuous band of the concrete kitchen, which flows into the staircase; the wall-mounted fireplace; and the storage surfaces in fir wood. The staircase is the central element of the project. Timber slats accompany its vertical development, extending through all levels as both enclosure and structure for the steps, shaping a continuous and filtered spatial condition. The first and second floors share the same layout: a linear corridor, punctuated by the rhythm of the slats, leads to the bedrooms, separated by a central block of wardrobes, and to the bathroom. On the top floor, beneath the roof with exposed original beams and boarding, a second living area is arranged. A timber wall incorporates the fireplace, finished in porphyry, and conceals the service spaces. A long exposed concrete bench runs through the space, emphasising the level of the openings and reinforcing the linearity of the interior. The artificial lighting project enhances the main themes of the project, helping to shape depth, materials and continuity between the levels.
